It's that time of year when Summer feels a world away and Winter just doesn't seem to end, that time of year when you deserve a little bit of winter sun and Vitamin C. But where to go? BomBom has put together a list of our 5 favourite winter sun getaways from around the world.
1. Isla Holbox Mexico
Isla Holbox is a ferry ride away from the hustle and bustle of Cancun lies the tranquil island of Holbox. With the island itself just 26 miles long, the vibe on the island is friendly and relaxed with sunset cocktails the only commitment of the day. The perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle and cold weather. Casa Sandra is one of the most beautiful and peaceful hotels on the island; a retreat of beach bungalows and swing hammocks.
2. SongSaa Cambodia
iSong Saa Private Island in Cambodia offers a beautiful combination of luxury and serenity. Created with sustainability in mind, Song Saa Private Island reflects the beauty of the Cambodian coastline. The resort is built from local materials, by local hands, and infused with local art and soul. This tropical getaway comes with a private beach, spacious wooden villas, spa sanctuaries, and a preserved coral reef, Song Saa Island lets you detach from the world and tune into simple luxuries.
Huvafen Fushi Maldives
iHuvafen Fushi is the perfect winter escape, situated on an island in the Maldives you will wake up every morning with a feeling of pure tranquility. All bedrooms look out to the most beautiful seascapes in the world.
Punta del Este Uruguay
Punta Del Este is also known as the St Tropez of Uruguay… it is located on the South East end of Uruguay and is home to beautiful beaches, gorgeous hotels, and high-end restaurants and bars. There are so many beautiful hotels to choose from but our favourite is Il Belvedere which looks over the ocean and backs on to the mystical forests of Uruguay. Punta Del Este’s warmest months are during the British winter time, making the perfect winter getaway.
Cape Town South Africa
With temperatures that barely ever go below 10°C, and are currently at 25°C we might just book our ticket now… Cape Town has so much to see and do and has a brilliant buzz about it. Our favourite place to stay is the Atlanticview Cape Town Boutique Hotel in Camps Bay, well... because of its Atlantic view and of course its beautiful aesthetic and excellent service.
