Whether you love it or hate it, Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. Valentine’s Day is one of our oldest traditions and has changed significantly over the years, however, one aim remains the same; to allow us to express our feelings to our loved ones. The day receives its name from St Valentine - there are several stories about who he was, most popularly a third-century priest who went against laws which prohibited marriage and secretly arranged marriages - he even died for the cause (how romantic). There are also some more gory stories about the origins of Valentine’s Day, but we wouldn’t want to spoil such a romantic story!
