Travelling back and forth to Morocco for years as children, we fell in love with the country and the magical essence of Marrakesh was something you just could not quite capture…. until we got Instagram!
At BomBom Morocco we love taking photos and sharing our journey, so we’ve put together a little Insta-guide to Marrakesh, so you can join in too! Close enough to London for a long weekend, but far enough away to feel like you are somewhere truly exotic, Marrakesh is photogenic from every angle, but these are our best bits:
Start at Djemma El-Fna – the busiest square in Africa and head to the souk where a labyrinth awaits: vendors selling carpets, spices and crafts. We can shop and bargain here for hours, getting completely lost in the rich colours and smells. The bright colours found here have been a constant source of inspiration at BomBom Morocco and they serve as an unbeatable backdrop for any of your pics.

LE JARDIN MARJORELLE.
French painter Jacques Marjorelle created this stunning retreat from the bustling city, a fragrant sanctuary of flora and fauna. This super popular spot is one of the most visited places in Morocco, so go early doors, beat the crowds and get that all important Insta snap without a fellow tourist photobombing and ruining your efforts.
Nomad is insta-famous and for good reason. A restaurant set in former carpet store off the well-known ‘spice square’, its food and atmosphere are hard to beat. With views of the surrounding medina and the Atlas Mountains, food made from local produce (with the occasional appearance of a guest chef) and interior design by Romain Meniere – you need Nomad on your feed!

No blogger’s trip to Marrakech would be complete without a stay at Riad Yasmine. The classic rooftop shot overlooking the pool is an influencer favourite, however this little gem holds beauty in each of its corners and is truly photogenic from every angle. You can even pop in to visit for a cup of mint tea if you are not staying here, it’s worth it!
What must be one of the world’s most well-known hotels famed for its pure luxury and exclusivity, La Mamounia has hosted countless celebrities and constantly delivers the best in service and style. La Mamounia’s beauty is evident as soon as you enter the gates and step into its enchanting world. You’ll be spoilt for choice with photo opportunities, but our favourite snap is the spa.
