
Having a successful and productive day starts from the moment you wake up - that’s why we always stick to each of these four steps every morning to ensure we start the day right and set ourselves up for prosperity. Each step is simple but very effective and ensures our bodies and our minds are looked after. Follow these steps each morning, and we’re sure you will start to feel positive vibes throughout the day.

1. Firstly, drink a big glass of water (500ml minimum) the moment you wake up. This will help to fire up your metabolism, hydrate you and flush out those nasty toxins - particularly if you've had a cheeky drink or two the night before. When we’re not properly hydrated our brains run on less fuel, which can make us feel tired and affect our mood.

2. Secondly, tell yourself five things you’re grateful for. What we say to ourselves tends to determine how we feel about ourselves. Because we can all have those low days, we need to remind ourselves of the things we should be happy about. It is thought that positive self-talk can improve emotional health and reduce daily stress. The morning is the perfect time for self-talk as it gives us the best chance of having a positive day.

3. Next, commit to 10 minutes of meditation each morning. Morning meditation is said to be most effective as this is when our brains are much clearer and before the stresses of the day have crept in. The benefits of meditation differ for everyone, however, it is thought that the endorphins released during meditation contribute to emotional well-being, as well as boosting energy levels and morning meditation sets a calm tone for the day. Meditation also builds focus, 10 minutes of mindfulness allows us to go into each day with a clear focus of what our priorities should be.

4. Lastly, drink a warm mug of water and lemon each morning. Drinking warm water and lemon is said to have numerous health benefits, including boosting immune systems due to the levels of Vitamin C found in lemons. Vitamin C is a primary antioxidant that helps protect cells from damaging free radicals. Vitamin C may also help to reduce skin wrinkling, which is always a bonus! It is also said that the sour taste of lemon jump-starts our digestive system, which helps food to be digested quickly and avoids the build-up of toxins.
